Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 ½ cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat 1 cup butter until creamy.
  • Add brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla extract, and beat until creamy.
  • Add eggs, and beat well. Gradually mix in the flour, then add baking soda, sea salt and cinnamon, and mix well.
  • Stir in the oats, and mix until well combined, then stir in chocolate chips.
  • Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned and semi firm.
  • Remove from oven, allow to cool slightly, then transfer to wire rack or cool surface to cool completely.

Notes

To prevent cookies from spreading, chill dough for about 15 minutes before scooping out. Store in airtight container with a piece of sandwich bread to keep cookies soft.
