Ingredients
  

Eggs and Dairy

  • 8 count eggs
  • 1.5 cups whole milk or heavy cream heavy cream is recommended

Meat

  • 1 pound pork sausage Jimmy Dean brand

Frozen Ingredients

  • 24 oz frozen tater tots may need a 32 oz bag

Cheese and Spices

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375 and spray 9 x 13 pan with non stick cooking spray.
  • Brown the meat in a skillet over medium heat, breaking sausage into small pieces. Drain excess grease and set aside.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk or cream, and all spices.
  • Add frozen tater tots in the bottom of the dish until a full layer is formed.
  • On top of tater tots, add the precooked sausage, cheddar cheese, and pour whisked egg mixture on top.
  • Cover casserole dish with foil to prevent overcooking edges.
  • Bake for 40 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes until center egg is fully cooked.
  • Serve hot with sour cream, tomatoes, salsa, or bacon.

Notes

You may have to purchase a 32 oz bag of tater tots and will have some left over.
