Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Stand Mixer
  • sheet pan
  • pizza cutter

Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 1 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Garlic Butter Topping

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • grated parmesan for topping (optional)

Instructions

Making the Breadsticks

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add the olive oil, flour, and salt. Stir until dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 45–60 minutes until doubled in size.
  • Grease a sheet pan and press the risen dough evenly into it. Score the dough into breadstick shapes.
  • Cover the sheet pan and let the dough rest for another 15–20 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F.
  • Mix the melted butter with garlic powder, parsley, and salt. Brush over the dough. Bake for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
  • Brush the warm breadsticks with remaining garlic butter, sprinkle with parmesan if desired, slice, and serve immediately.

Notes

These sheet pan breadsticks are perfect for dipping into marinara, pairing with creamy pastas, or serving alongside a warm bowl of soup. They’re also great to freeze—just cool completely, then store in a zip-top bag and reheat when needed.
