Preparation

  • Slice the halloumi into thick pieces, about 1-1.5 cm or ½ inch. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • Heat 2 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the halloumi slices and fry for 1-2 minutes until golden, then flip and fry the other side. Drizzle with lemon juice before plating.
  • Prepare the hot honey sauce using the same skillet. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil, honey, and chili flakes, heating for about 30 seconds until it bubbles gently.
  • Serve the fried halloumi on a plate, drizzle with hot honey sauce, and garnish with thyme leaves.
