  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 ounces)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

  • Boil a large pot of salted water. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté until soft, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add the ground turkey to the skillet. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Pour in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Stir to combine.
  • Add oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the sauce. Heat through for a couple of minutes.
  • Remove from heat and serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
