Steak and Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 lbs steak such as filet, ribeye, or sirloin Use tender cuts for best texture
  • 4-5 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 5 tablespoon butter divided
  • 10 cloves garlic minced and divided
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 2 green onions diced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • cup parmesan cheese grated

Potato Ingredients

  • 4 lbs russet potatoes
  • 1 cup half and half warmed
  • 6 tablespoon salted butter for potatoes
  • ¾ cup shredded cheese

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder for seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt for seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
 

Cooking Instructions

  • Cut steak into bite sized pieces, coat with oil, and season well. Let sit briefly at room temperature.
  • Peel and cut potatoes, soak in cold water, then boil in salted water until tender.
  • Heat oil in a pan and sear steak in batches until browned, flipping once, then remove.
  • In the same pan, melt butter and cook garlic until fragrant, return steak and toss to coat, then set aside.
  • Add more butter and garlic, whisk in cream, and simmer gently until slightly thickened.
  • Mash potatoes with butter, half and half, cheese, and seasonings until smooth.
  • Stir parmesan, red pepper flakes, and green onions into the sauce until creamy.
  • Serve steak bites over mashed potatoes and spoon sauce on top.

Notes

Use tender cuts like ribeye or filet for best texture. Cook steak in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fresh garlic gives the best flavor. Simmer sauce gently to prevent curdling. Adjust spice level to taste. Swap heavy cream with evaporated milk for a lighter option. Mashed cauliflower works as a low carb substitute.
