- 1 lb ground beef (90/10)
- 14.5 oz canned petite diced tomatoes (drained)
- ½ white onion
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- refried beans (store-bought or homemade)
- tostada shells
- shredded lettuce (for serving)
- chopped tomatoes (for serving)
- shredded cheddar cheese (for serving)
- chopped onion (for serving)
Warm the refried beans in a small pot over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Add a splash of olive oil to a large skillet. Once hot, add the onions and sauté until tender.
Add the ground beef and seasonings and cook until browned and cooked through.
Add the drained canned tomatoes and continue cooking until almost all liquid is absorbed.
Spread warm refried beans over a tostada shell, layer with ground beef, cheese, lettuce, and other toppings.
