Sauce Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning homemade or store-bought
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt omit if your seasoning blend contains salt
- 1¾ cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
- 1 whole lemon zest only
- 3 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried basil
Cooking Instructions
Melt ½ cup unsalted butter in a large skillet over low heat until frothy.
Stir in 1 ½ cups heavy cream and 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning; add kosher salt if necessary. Simmer for 5-6 minutes.
Remove from heat and mix in lemon zest and 1¾ cups freshly grated parmesan cheese until smooth.
Toss cooked pasta into the sauce or serve over grilled fish/steamed vegetables.
