Butter and Seasoning
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (can use salted)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Croissants
- 4 pieces croissants cut in half lengthwise
- 8 slices ham
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 teaspoons poppy seeds optional
Preparation and Baking
Preheat the oven to 375° F. Spray a baking sheet or 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
In a bowl, mix the melted unsalted butter, honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until combined. Set aside.
Add the croissant bottoms to the baking dish. Top with ham slices, then cheese slices (2 of each), and finally place the croissant tops.
Brush the tops of the croissants generously with the melted butter mixture, reserving about a tablespoon to use after baking.
Bake uncovered for about 15 minutes.
Baste the croissants with the leftover butter sauce and sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired.
